Tuesday's coming, did you bring your coat? It's kind of a light week for New Releases here at Scarecrow, but that doesn't mean that what we did get in isn't worth checking out, so let's get to it.

First and foremost would be the return of the greatest newsman who ever read off a teleprompter. That's right, Ron Burgundy is back in ANCHORMAN 2: THE LEGEND CONTINUES (@ BLU SALE). This sequel, set in 1979, sees Ron and the Newsteam move from "San Diahgo", the Greatest City on Earth, to the Big Apple to head up a risky 24-Hour Cable News operation. The blu-ray of ANCHORMAN 2 features not just the theatrical version, but an extended cut as well as a third version, which has (according to the box) 763 alternate jokes. Sweet Eli Whitney's nose!

We also really want to highlight a pair of classic films finally making their way to Blu-ray this week. Sure, there are plenty of important movies out there tackling all sorts of issues like race, class, violence and other social iniquities. But even more timely are the films that speak to the triumph of the human spirit. Of course we're talking about KING KONG ESCAPES (@ BLU SALE) and KING KONG VS. GODZILLA (@ BLU SALE). The former finds the heroic giant ape captured and brought to a diamond mine to substitute for a malfunctioning MechaKong, and the latter, well, it's frankly pretty self-explanatory. Both are naturalistic, personal films that really get at deep down universal truths about humanity, such as our insatiable desire to see men in suits beat the crap out of each other and step on tiny models of cities. Here's a trailer for KING KONG ESCAPES:

And one for KING KONG VS. GODZILLA. Make sure you stop in and pick these up so you can pass them on to your children, and someday your children's children.

As for the rest, don't forget to check out the following: Keanu Reeves gets shoehorned into a famous piece of Japanese history in 47 RONIN (@ BLU 3D SALE). New from Disney is the PETER PAN-inspired THE PIRATE FAIRY (@ BLU SALE). Peter Dinklage and Steve Zahn play Live-Action Role Players who wind up on a real quest in KNIGHTS OF BADASSDOM. The Coen Bros' FARGO (@ BLU SALE) gets a remastered Blu-ray. Two single parents meet-cute while escorting their respective kids on a college tour in AT MIDDLETON. Alain Robbe-Grillet, the writer of LAST YEAR AT MARIENBAD, followed that with his directorial debut, L'IMMORTELLE (@ BLU SALE). There's Donald Cammell and Nicolas Roeg's infamous Mick Jagger film PERFORMANCE (@ BLU SALE). We've got some classic Italian crime with MEET HIM AND DIE (@ BLU SALE). And we got in a handful of great Universal Studios westerns on Blu, WAR WAGON (@ BLU SALE), JOE KIDD (@ BLU SALE), TWO MULES FOR SISTER SARA (@ BLU SALE), and ROOSTER COGBURN (@ BLU SALE). Also, make sure you scroll down to see the stack of new titles we got from Warner Archive!
