This is the third part of Richard Linklater's trilogy of films starring Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy, tracing a couple from their first meeting 18 years ago in BEFORE SUNRISE to their possibly disintegrating marriage here. If you've seen the other two movies (you haven't? Get on it!), you know how pleasurable it is to watch these two characters grow and change over nearly two decades. This is one of the most honest and simply romantic films of the year.

Danish director Nicolas Winding Refn's follow up to his instant cult hit DRIVE teams him up once more with that film's star, Ryan Gosling, for another ultraviolent crime picture. This one is set in Bangkok, where Gosling's character runs a boxing club as a front for his family's drug smuggling operation. When his brother is killed by a ruthless local cop in punishment for a brutal murder, he's tasked with exacting revenge, a mission he for which he is entirely unprepared. Dedicated to the great Alejandro Jodorowsky (director of EL TOPO and THE HOLY MOUNTAIN), ONLY GOD FORGIVES is gorgeous, hypnotic and incredibly violent.

From the makers of the meditative shepherding documentary SWEETGRASS, LEVIATHAN is one of the most remarkable avant-garde films to receive a wide release recently. Here the filmmakers peppered a fishing trawler with dozens of tiny HD cameras, creating a stunning, beautiful and unflinching portrait of both modern labor and nature's pragmatic violence. Turn this one up LOUD.

We've also got ghost story throwback THE CONJURING (@ BLU SALE), and if you like that you'll love the gothic horror classic THE UNINVITED (@ BLU SALE), finally released in the United States by the great Criterion Collection. Then there are the comedies, like the disguised Google product placement THE INTERNSHIP (@ BLU), Sam Rockwell in THE WAY WAY BACK (@ BLU), and don't forget BIRDEMIC 2: THE RESSURECTION!
