The Scarecrow Video Podcast Episode 37: The Best of 2012

The first Scarecrow Video podcast of 2013 looks into the past as Matt, Paige, and Kevin talk about their picks for the best DVD and/or Blu-ray releases of last year. You can see our staff's Top Five picks and the full list on our blog. The Best of 2012 special rental section is on the shelves to the right of the staircase.

You can listen to the podcast on our site or on iTunes.

Amongst Kevin's picks are Natural Selection, featuring an outstanding performance by Rachael Harris, the severely overlooked action film Miss Bala, and Entrance, of which he says, "the last 20 minutes was the best horror movie I saw all year."

Matt went with Olive Films' release of Nicholas Ray's Johnny Guitar and several Criterions, including Michael Cimino's flop-turned-classic Heaven's Gate and their Eclipse series' When Horror Came To Shochiku.

Paige recommends Don Hertzfeldt's collection Bitter Films: Volume Two,  the first season of Bob's Burgers, and David Attenborough's Frozen Planet
