END OF WATCH—Two L.A. cops (Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena) pull over members of a dangerous drug cartel and then spend a few violent days chasing after them (and being chased) in this tense action/drama from Training Day writer David Ayer.  BLU  @  SALE

SEARCHING FOR SUGAR MAN—In the early 70s, a Detroit singer named Rodriguez recorded two albums and then faded into back into obscurity. Little did he know that halfway around the world, his music and its anti-establishment message was gaining wide popularity in South Africa. This fascinating and now Oscar-nominated documentary follows two men on their search for what happened to the revered musician.  BLU  @  SALE

FAT KID RULES THE WORLD—A funny, sad, and sweet coming-of-age story about Troy, a suicidal teenager, Marcus, the druggie who saves his life, and how they end up saving each other through punk rock. First-time director Matthew Lillard shot the movie in Seattle with lots of nooks and crannies of our city on display. A surprise bonus: Billy Campbell is wonderful as Troy’s ex-Marine dad.  @  SALE

THE PAPERBOY—Lee Daniels’ (Precious) adaptation of Pete Dexter’s novel about a convicted killer (John Cusack), his sexpot prison pen pal (Nicole Kidman), the two journalists she enlists to help prove his innocence (Matthew McConaughey and David Oyelowo), and a bored little brother (Zac Efron) is a strange, steamy ride.   BLU  @  SALE
