New Releases for September 4: TV (and movies)!

The first New Release list of September is chock-full TV series (so you can catch up before the fall season begins), along with silent films, classic noir, Madden 13, and, of course, 3D PIRANHAS. Here's the list:

BLU = Also available to rent on Blu-ray disc

3D BLU = Available for rent on lovely 3D Blu-ray, though you must have a 3D TV to experience the full glory.

@ = Available for sale in the store (but we can special order anything, see us for details.)

Our online store is nearing the end of its revamp--please email us at scarecrow@scarecrow.com or give us a call at (206) 524-8554 if you need to buy something without setting foot in the store.

PARKS AND RECRECATION: SEASON 4—Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) spends this season in pursuit of a lifelong dream (a seat on the Pawnee City Council) with the help of the best ensemble cast in comedy television.  @

FRINGE: SEASON 4—Another season of parallel universes, shapeshifters, and time anomalies for Olivia, Peter, and the rest of the special FBI team. Plus, Leonard Nimoy!    BLU  @

THE OFFICE: SEASON 8—The post-Michael Scott era begins as creepy Robert California (James Spader) and crazy Nellie Bertram (Catherine Tate) take over the higher ranks of Dunder Mifflin, while the rest of the cast continues in their various hilarious pursuits.  @

THE FIVE-YEAR ENGAGEMENT—Jason Segel and Emily Blunt are a couple whose nuptials are continually delayed in this irreverent, touching comedy co-written by Segal and The Muppets writer/Forgetting Sarah Marshall director Nicholas Stoller.   BLU  @

SAFE—In the September issue of City Arts, our colleague Bryan notes that this Jason Statham vehicle doesn’t have much in the way of gritty reality, but “a serious tone and tense score by Mark Mothersbaugh give it more of a tough Charles Bronson tone than a cheeky Transporter one. Definitely one of Statham’s best.”   BLU @
