THE RAID: REDEMPTION—Our colleague Bryan notes in the recent issue of City Arts magazine that this Indonesian film is “easily one of the best and most intense action movies of recent years.” Most everyone else in the movie-going world agrees with him. We highly recommend you experience it for yourself.  BLU  @

COMMUNITY: SEASON 3—Step inside the Dreamatorium with Abed and the rest of the Greendale student body for a truly great season of comedy television. Read what Spenser said about it in the aforementioned issue of City Arts.

DEXTER: SEASON 6—A newly resolved Dexter (Michael C. Hall) faces religious zealots the Doomsday Killers, headed by Edward James Olmos and Colin Hanks.  @

LA PROMESSE and ROSETTA—The Criterion Collection presents two intense dramas by Belgian brothers Luc and Jean-Pierre Dardenne.  BLU @

THE HUNGER GAMES—I admit, I fell head first into the books and didn’t surface for air until the last 50 pages of Mockingjay. The film isn’t exactly how I imagined their world, but I was sucked in just the same, mainly due to the fierce Jennifer Lawrence as our hero Katniss and Lenny Kravitz as fashion designer Cinna. The DVD and Blu-rays will arrive on our shelves Saturday, August 18.   BLU  @
