New Releases for June 19

This week’s New Release list is ripe with raunchy comedies, inspirational tales, strange science fiction, and noirs both classic and modern. Here’s the list:

BLU = Also available to rent on Blu-ray disc

@ = Available for sale in the store (but we can special order most anything, ask us for details)

The revamp of our online store should be done soon. In the meantime, please email us at or give us a call at (206) 524-8554 if you need to buy something without setting foot in the store.

WANDERLUST—Aimless urbanites Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudd (Object of My Affection reunion!) take some time for soul searching when they find themselves in an “intentional community.” The film, written by David Wain and Ken Marino, is full of hilariously awkward bits that had me snorting laughter and cringing behind a pillow (often at the same time).  BLU @

LOUIE: SEASON 2—Our colleague Bryan says in City Arts that this season is “even better than the first, perfecting C.K.’s blend of heavy laughs, deep discomfort, smart observations, sadness, and sweetness.” And the theme song is fantastic.  BLU @

JEFF WHO LIVES AT HOME—Jason Segel is a just slacker trying to find his place in the world. His quest brings enlightenment to his brother (Ed Helms) and mom (Susan Sarandon) as well in this funny and thoughtful film by Mark and Jay Duplass.  BLU @

PROJECT X—And you thought the party in Sixteen Candles got out of hand…  BLU  @
