It�s always a good day when a new Coen Brothers film arrives on our shelves. When we also get a killer tire movie and a DVD of Chuck Norris: Karate Kommandos, it�s a truly great occasion. Adding to the awesome are Matt Damon, Josh Brolin, and Hailee Steinfeld, who darn it, should have been nominated for Best Actress, not Best Supporting Actress. It�s the last of 2010�s Best Picture Oscar nominees to arrive on home video. �@ SALE ANOTHER YEAR *�Jim Broadbent and Ruth Sheen play a content married couple dealing with their more frazzled friends in Mike Leigh�s latest slice of life film. It was nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.� @ RUBBER *�Trying to describe the plot of this highly enjoyable film would give too much away. All we can say is, beware the tire! �@ SALE AMERICAN: THE BILL HICKS STORY *�A portrait of the late iconic comedian featuring previously unseen performance footage.� @ SALE BREAKING BAD: SEASON 3 *�Another engrossing season of high stakes scheming with cancer patient/chemistry teacher/meth maker Walter White (Emmy winner Bryan Cranston). The DVD & Blu-ray have commentary tracks and a bunch of featurettes. @ THE COMPANY MEN�Ben Affleck, Chris Cooper, and Tommy Lee Jones play three men thrown off the corporate ladder due to downsizing in this drama from writer/director John Wells (ER and The West Wing). JUST GO WITH IT�Fun fact: The third billed person in this cast after Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston is Nicole Kidman. THE BIG C: SEASON 1�Laura Linney plays a schoolteacher who vows to live it up after being diagnosed with cancer in this AMC dramedy. WHO TOOK THE BOMP? In early 1930s Germany, against the backdrop of the Nazis' rise to power, Hermann Hermann (Dirk Bogarde), a Russian emigrant and successful chocolate magnate, starts experiencing mental breakdowns. He soon meets Felix, an unemployed laborer, who Hermann believes to be his doppelganger. He hatches up an elaborate plot, which he believes will free him of all his worries and nightmares. Exorcismus��This dark tale of supernatural possession from director Manuel Carballo combines classic horror with�riveting family drama. Fifteen-year-old Emma (Sophie Vavasseur, Resident Evil: Apocalypse) is going through the growing pains of teen life, believing her parents don't understand her and longing for the independence that's still a few years away. The Man Who Would Be King (1975) *��Based on a Rudyard Kipling story and packed with spectacle, humor, excitement and bold twists of fate, John Huston�s film of The Man Who Would Be King earns its crown as �an epic like no other.� Sean Connery and Michael Caine � chins out, shoulders squared and with a sly wink � star as British sergeants Danny Dravot and Peachy Carnehan. The Empire was built by men like these two. Now they�re out to build their own empire, venturing into remote Kafiristan to become rich as kings.��� @ Night Flight (1933)�The long awaited DVD release of Clarence Brown�s classic drama about South American airmail pilots with a cast chock full of stars: John Barrymore, Lionel Barrymore, Helen Hayes, Robert Montgomery, Myrna Loy, and Clark Gable.� @ The Rebels (1979)��In this adventurous sequel to The Bastard (see import list above) Philip Kent (Andrew Stevens) risks his life several times a day in the cause of American Independence. Combining drama, action, adventure and romance, The Rebels is set against the back drop of history.� It also stars Kim Cattrall, Tom Bosley, and Don Johnson. Shadows and Lies (2010)��The talented James Franco stars in Shadows & Lies as William Vincent, a quiet and mysterious criminal. When he falls for a New York gangster s (Josh Lucas) favorite call girl (Julianne Nicholson), Vincent is forced to flee the city, threatened with death if he should ever return.
