New Releases for June 23rd

Here's some of what's new on our shelves today. If you see SALE after a title it means we have it for sale here on our website. Just click through to find it. Waltz With Bashir: Writer/director Ari Folman interviews friends, a psychologist and a reporter in an attempt to clarify blurry memories of his part in a 1982 Beirut massacre, when he was a infantryman in the Israeli Defense Forces, illustrating the story through animation. Though mostly thought of as a documentary, it was nominated for an Oscar for Best Foreign Film. It's also available on Blu-ray. Louise Bourgeios: The Spider, The Mistress and The Tangerine: An intimate yet intense look at the life and creative process of the modern art legend. SALE High Hopes: Mike Leigh's (Happy-Go-Lucky) comedic study of British social hierarchy makes its DVD debut. We have it for sale here.  SALE Tom & Jerry: Chuck Jones Collection: The man responsible for What's Opera, Doc? and How The Grinch Stole Christmas also made several theatrical shorts featuring the famous cat and mouse. The collection has 34 remastered shorts and a couple documentaries. HHF (Harmless Hollywood Fare): Confessions of a Shopaholic (starring Isla Fisher), Pink Panther 2 (starring two-time Oscar host Steve Martin); The Code with Morgan Freeman and Antonio Banderas, and Inkheart (starring Monkeybone's Brendan Fraser). Phoebe In Wonderland: Elle Fanning plays a talented young girl who slowly withdraws into an elaborate fantasy world, causing great concern to her mother and drama teacher. It stars four people we like a lot: Felicity Huffman, Patricia Clarkson, Bill Pullman and Campbell Scott (Fun Fact: both Pullman and Scott were in Singles). Red Dwarf: Back To Earth (PAL Code 2): The all new special that aired over Easter weekend in the UK came out on DVD over there about a week ago and the Dwarf fans among us pounced. It's a director's cut of the show, plus a making-of featurette, cast commentary, smeg ups and lots more. Fingers crossed for the return of Duane Dibbley. Rifftrax: The minds behind Mystery Science Theater 3000 deliver their usual brand of humorous snarky commentary over six films: Night of the Living Dead, Reefer Madness, Swing Parade (Three Stooges), Plan 9 From Outer Space, Carnival of Souls and Little Shop of Horrors.
