New to View: The MacGuffins looks ahead to 2011

Hello and welcome to the last episode of The MacGuffin Podcast for 2010. For their last hurrah for the year, Spencer and John glimpse ahead to the films coming out in the first three months of 2011. This is the time of year when the crappier fare gets dumped into theaters (they're looking in your direction, Season of The Witch), but there are a few the gentlemen hope will rise above the mediocrity. Note to Spencer: We've had ONG BAK 3 on DVD here for a while. If you or anyone else is curious, please visit our New Release section. Some of the more promising things for January: GREEN HORNET--Pro: Written by Seth Rogen, directed by Michel Gondry. Con: Is it necessary? RABBIT HOLE--starring Nicole Kidman & Aaron Eckhart, based on the Tony award wining play by David Lindsay-Abaire and directed by John Cameron Mitchell of Shortbus & Hedwig fame. February brings I AM NUMBER FOUR... ...and DRIVE ANGRY 3D And in March, there's Zack Snyder's SUCKERPUNCH ...and Nick Frost & Simon Pegg in Greg "Adventureland " Mottola's PAUL For a look at more movies coming out in 2011, check out this slideshow from (thanks to IMDb for the link). Usually Spencer & John end an episode with a DVD Pick of The Week, but they say there's weren't any good ones for the last week of the year. I'm guessing they didn't see George Clooney in Anton Corbijn's THE AMERICAN. Rent that here first and then head to theaters to see their picks: 127 HOURS and BLACK SWAN (it's so much more than just "the creepy ballet movie.")
