New to View: The MacGuffins live from Grand Illusion Cinema

This week, Spencer & John of The MacGuffin Podcast leave the ragged orange chairs of Scarecrow's Action/Adventure/War section and head to luxurious seats at Seattle's oldest continually running movie theater, the all-volunteer run GRAND ILLUSION CINEMA. John chats with general manager Brian Alter about the theater's history and Saturday's fundraising extravaganza featuring drinks, beverages, raffles, prizes and the always amazing CASABLANCA. You can get all the information & ticket info here; and we also have tickets for sale here at the store. After that, Spencer and John retire to the GI's lobby and chat about Zack Syder, director of Watchmen, 300, and the upcoming Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole , which from the trailer looks a lot like 300 but with OWLS (Watch the trailer here and you'll see what we mean.) I'm looking forward to seeing it in IMAX.
Spencer & John's excellent DVD pics of the week can be found for rent and for sale here at Scarecrow. Interesting tying-it-together tidbit--Modern Family starts Ty Burrell, who played one of the jerkier survivors in the Dawn of the Dead remake, directed by Zack Synder.
