CRYPTICON preview, CINEMATIC TITANIC review & more New to View MacGuffin Podcast action

Greetings and welcome to a Very Special Episode of the MacGuffin Podcast. No, it's not about how Spencer and John attempt to stay up all night studying by taking speed. It's a guest star-studded episode that looks forward to CRYPTICON (the big horror convention happening this weekend up in Everett) and looks back at our awesome in-store event with the cast of CINEMATIC TITANIC. First, Crypticon programming director Eric Morgret talks with Spencer and John about what to expect at this year's Con. We're looking forward to the fashion shows, the short films, the special Nightmare on Elm Street Radio8Ball presentation, and the chance to meet a Ghostbuster. If you're going, please stop by the vendor room and check in at our booth. After that, Mary Jo Pehl, J. Elvis Weinstein, Frank Conniff and Joel Hodgson of Cinematic Titanic fame talk about how the show morphed out of Mystery Science Theater 3000, how the live show differs from the original movie-riffing experience, and what they have coming up in the future. Fun Fact: J. Elvis was a writer on Freaks & Geeks, and so he talks a bit about that as well. Lastly, the gentleman are joined by Brandi Sperry for the DVD Picks of The Week. Brandi rightly goes with the Vengeance Trilogy, while John picks the Blu-ray release of the original The Stepfather starring Lost's Terry O'Quinn.* Spencer recommends a different kind of horror all together--the one warned of in the new documentary Collapse. Spencer & John keep with the horror theme in the Development Hell episode, in which they reflect on the films of George "When there's no more room in hell, then the dead shall walk the Earth" Romero and chat about Guillermo del Toro's divorce from The Hobbit. Spencer & John will be out and about at Crypticon as well, so be sure to say hello! *But to me, he'll always be the dad from The Cutting Edge.
