This weekend: NFFTY and SAKURA CON

Two great events are happening this weekend: 1) The National Film Festival for Talented Youth (or "Nifty!") is at Seattle Center Friday March 28th through the 30th. It features 73 films made by youth 21 and younger. The Opening Night Gala includes five films and an after party and concert in the Sky Church at the EMP. There's also free filmmaking panels and workshops throughout the weekend as well. Check out all the information here. We're looking forward to seeing these filmmakers' works on our shelves in the future. 2) The big Anime/Asian culture gathering known as Sakura Con is this weekend downtown in the Convention Center. Scarecrow will have a booth there selling DVDs, giving away lots of free stuff, and featuring at least one staff person wearing a Gimme Gimme Octopus head. Please stop by and say hi. sakura con We suggest you attend as much as you can of both events. See you there.
