Olympia Film Festival coming soon...plan your road trip now!

Thank goodness for Fall, because it's finally time for The Olympia Film Festival! It runs November 2 - 10 at the lovely and historic Capitol Theater in downtown Olympia. This year's lineup is definitely worthy of a road trip.

For those of you who missed it at the Northwest Film Forum, there will be two screenings of RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK: THE ADAPTATION with Chris Strompolos (Indiana Jones himself!) in attendance. Then on November 10th those nefarious creatures Humbug and Ballyhoo will present the world famous ALL FREAKIN' NIGHT. Starting at Midnight, hordes of hungry horrors and haunts will materialize off the screen as you are subjected to five of the most ferociously frightful films ever over 10 hours of nonstop bone chilling fun (look for more on this insanity later on this blog). Other highlights include the Opening Night Gala on Friday, November 2nd featuring the locally made hit OUTSOURCED, a series of Activism Documentaries that kicks off with a live event featuring indie journalist Dahr Jamail and spoken word poet Suheir Hammad, a screening of Ingmar Bergman's THE MAGICIAN in 35mm, Canada's blockbuster BON COP BAD COP, the SIFF favorites MONSTER CAMP and BLOOD ON THE FAST TRACK, Guy Maddin's BRAND UPON THE BRAIN!, a discussion of Feminist Video Art from the 70's, and 22 filmmakers in attendance.

For the full rundown of films, times and ticket information, pick up a catalog here in the store or visit their website at (sorry, our links aren't working, stupid Internets!) The tickets are so inexpensive you'll have plenty of gas money to make the drive and stop at Old School for a slice.
