W/David Lynch in town and more importantly in the store today, I figure it's a good time to discuss everyones favorite Lynch. For me it's going to be Twin Peaks. The rich characters and complicated back stories made for very addictive television. Granted the 2nd season really fell apart and I never really bought into who the killer was. The first time I saw the pilot, I caught the "movie" version with the tacked on ending. I think that predisposed me to not liking how the series ended. The ending of that cut of the pilot felt so forced and nonsensical, I never had a chance to really enjoy the endgame. But that first season was awesome. Tightly knit and well paced. Man, is Sherilyn Fenn a hottie or what? Kyle MacLachlan strikes the strangest balance of ubercool and eerily weird. He's one of the few actors that it really works for, and only Lynch can really bring it out. Everything else I've seen him in, outside of Lynch projects, he doesn't really find that balance, re: Showgirls.
