Sigh...It's always a bit sad when the Seattle International Film Festival comes to a close. It runs for almost a month but I always seem to miss a bunch of films. They'll be a Best of SIFF 2011 showcase this weekend at� SIFF Cinema, featuring encore screenings of Golden Space Needle Audience Award winner Paper Birds, Best Films4Families Feature Circus Dreams, and Being Elmo: A Puppeteer's Journey, which won both the Lena Sharpe Award for Persistence of Vision and my heart. The entire SIFF post-festival wrap up and list of award winners can be found here. Several SIFF 2011 films have or will be opening theatrically around town in the next few weeks. Golden Space Needle award winner for Outstanding Achievement in Acting Ewan McGregor's new film Beginners is at the Harvard Exit. Kung Fu Panda 2 is on many screens around town, including The Metro. Submarine is playing at our Best Film Corner in America cornermate Seven Gables.
