The good folks at the Asia Northwest Cultural Education Association, the organization that presents Sakura-Con each year, have teamed up with several other organizations in the Pacific Northwest to support earthquake and tsunami relief and recovery efforts in Japan. The result of their mobilization is SeattleJapanRelief.org, which is helping to collect donations for the following charities: --The YMCA OF GREATER SEATTLE, who are working closely with YMCA's in Japan that are providing shelter and information to victims and mobilizing volunteers to help children, elderly, disabled and migrant workers in the  affected areas. --PEACE WINDS AMERICA, a non-profit dedicated to reducing the devastating impact of natural disasters in the Asia Pacific. They have pledged that 100% of all donated funds will go directly to disaster relief. --THE AMERICAN RED CROSS SeattleJapanRelief is resolved to remain involved in long-term recovery as well as the assisting with the immediate need.
