Auteur Proximity Alert! GUILLERMO DEL TORO, director of such films as HELLBOY and PAN'S LABYRINTH, will be in town Thursday, September 30th at
Experience Music Project and Science Fiction Museum for
AN EVENING WITH GUILLERMO DEL TORO. He'll sit down with
Warren Etheredge to discuss his career and his new book THE FALL with author Chuck Hogan (who also wrote PRINCE OF THIEVES, the book Ben Affleck adapted in THE TOWN). It's the second novel in their trilogy
THE STRAIN about a vampiric virus spreading through New York City--and these vampires aren't the kind that woo teenage girls and brood in swamps; these creatures are not nice. The presentation begins at 7pm; tickets are $30 which includes an autographed copy of the book. So swing by his section in our direction's area to brush up on his filmography (
one of us found a pretty interesting title you might want to check out), then head out to the EMP. In related Guillermo del Toro news: If you haven't reached your jealously quota for the day, check out this video of
him raiding the The Criterion Collection's Blu-ray stash. He was there while checking up on the upcoming release of
CRONOS. Drooooooool......
