Yesterday, two great locally produced films were released on DVD: The much acclaimed, Academy Award nominated documentary
Iraq in Fragments (mentioned previously
here) and
Police Beat, co-written by
The Stranger's Charles Mudede (based on his column of the same name), co-written and directed by Robinson Devor (who also did
Zoo and a fine film called
The Woman Chaser we have for rent in the Murder/Mystery/Suspense section), produced in association with The Northwest Film Forum and filmed right here in
Toronto Seattle.
Scarecrow salutes these locally made movies and all our homegrown filmmakers. If you can stand to move in this heat, come in and rent (or better yet, buy!) these films today. We've got air conditioning!
